Interwoven Maths CPD
with Nathan Day
I love my sharing ideas and experiences from teaching maths with other teachers. I have led workshops at six MathsConf conferences, three Maths Hubs, and events run by the PTI, Seneca Learning, Teacher Talk Radio and more.
My sessions focus on practical classroom decisions: how we choose examples, design tasks, build connections and help pupils see mathematics as a coherent subject rather than a sequence of disconnected techniques.
If you would like me to lead CPD at your school, conference, university, Maths Hub or event, please get in touch using the form or email address below.
Workshop Topics
These are examples of workshops and talks I have led before.
Interweaving Planning connected tasks that keep ideas alive and help pupils move flexibly between topics.
Making Connections Finding and using mathematical structures that run through different parts of the curriculum.
Stretch and Challenge Designing accessible tasks with depth, extension and meaningful challenge built in from the start.
Proportion Connecting ratio, fractions, decimals, percentages and multiplicative reasoning across year groups.
Ratio Scaling A workshop on ratio, scaling, unit ratios and connected representations.
Reciprocals Using reciprocals as a thread through proportion, equations, trigonometry and rates of change.
Task Design Principles and examples for designing tasks worth sharing, adapting and teaching.
The History and Future of Mathematics Using the stories, people and future directions of mathematics to add richness to lessons. Enquire about CPD
